Certified Inventory Optimization Professional (CIOP) is an end-to-end supply chain certification program. The certification consists of 30 modules focusing both on traditional and futuristic topics. The traditional topics are introduction to supply chain management, all about inventory, strategic business planning, forecasting, demand management, capacity management, sales and operations planning (S&OP), master scheduling (MPS), materials requirements planning (MRP) and production activity control (PAC). It also includes topics on procurement, warehousing, transportation, distribution, and packaging. The topic on the future trends such as Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Machine Learning (M/L) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). There is a significant focus on supporting technologies such as forecasting and process mapping tools such as Microsoft Visio. In addition to the above indicated topics the participants need to master over 3000 terminologies in supply chain management.

Poka-Yoke is a supply chain management concept that incorporates all areas of the supply chain, including manufacturing, logistics and supply chain. This means that each area functions as a link in the chain. According to the supply chain management concept, companies are made up of several smaller units, and all these units are linked together through a number of different processes. This process is called Pareto analysis. The main objective of the concept is to reduce the cost of production, while improving quality at the same time.

Poka-Yoke simply refers to aniterating improvement approach aimed at eliminating errors in shipping or pick-up. It s a dynamic, continuous improvement approach aimed at avoiding costly mistakes in any production or logistical process. One example of a problem area is the root cause of late deliveries. This root cause can be improved through the use of advanced GPS devices to determine the exact date and time of delivery, thus decreasing the chances of late deliveries. Other examples of Poka-Yoke problems include poor quality of raw materials, defective machining or poor packaging of goods.

When it comes to manufacturing, there are two types of systems that are used by manufacturers to achieve the aim of cost reduction without compromising quality - closed loop systems and open loop systems. Closed loop systems are usually more robust than open systems, and therefore have better overall functionality. The main advantage of using a Poka-Yoke supply chain software solution is that it helps improve the reliability of the system, minimizes waste, reduces costs, increases productivity and improves customer satisfaction. Furthermore, Lean tools like Poka-Yoke have been proven to help increase company profits, which leads to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty.
