What is Palletisation? Definition and examples. (uk. tr.) The method of assembling and moving goods on flat pallets by hand. The principal method used for this purpose in the distribution industry is conveyor belt system, but other techniques are also being developed. The principle technique of palletisation is also applied in production industries such as furniture making, metal-coating, chemical processing, pulp and lube, rubber products and others.

What is Palletisation? Definition and examples. (uk. tr.) "A method of material handling and storage which includes the use of flat sheets of material for storage purposes." In other words, it's simply a warehouse management system that utilises conveying systems and automated systems for moving, stacking and compacting materials on flat surfaces. The term is used in many industries including: automotive sector, chemicals sector, electrical and textile industry, pulp and lube industry, the mining and forestry, the construction and related industries, food processing and supply chain management, packaging and retail industries, and the service and product industries.

The advantages of pallet storage are: - It increases the efficiency of the distribution system as the goods are in a compact state without any risk of damages due to the movement. - It reduces the costs of handling and moving the goods. - It minimises warehousing costs as the materials are easily accessible and can be stacked without difficulty. - Reduces the hazards of handling the goods as they are easily stacked or moved on to a new location without damaging them. However, the downsides of pallet storage are: - The materials become too compact and hard to access and manipulate.
